De Thornsche Molen is in vele opzichten een bijzondere molen. Allereerst is hij bijzonder vanwege zijn type. Een wipkokerkorenmolen. Deze heeft hetzelfde uiterlijk als de wipmolen en heeft een boven- en een onderhuis. Het gehele maalwerk en de maalstenen zitten bij de wipkokerkorenmolen in het onderhuis. Een zeer kleine ruimte, dat zeker niet.
